Rosé IN THE RAIN
Earlier this month i had the pleasure of collaborating with interiors brands 8 Holland Street and TAT London. i was given creative freedom to put together a living, floral window display to celebrate the beginning of spring/summer TO FEATURE AT THEIR OPENING PARTY.
8 Holland Street - showcases carefully selected twentieth-century British artwork, vintage furniture, pottery as well as Scandinavian and Moroccan textiles.
TAT LONDON - ‘Tat was born out of a love for the unloved object. I was searching for pieces that were within my budget but that weren’t common. I wanted people to feel that just because something was unique, it wouldn’t mean it was unaffordable’ - Charlie porter of house & garden magazine.
5TH APRIL 2019
I was asked to design and construct a flower crown for the artwork for a short film (to be revealed!).
The short film is a futuristic, gothic, noir.
I took inspiration from Alexander McQueen’s exhibition ‘Savage Beauty’ and the millinery work of Philip Treacy.
Huge thanks to:
want a very honest insight into the world of floristry, then YOU MUST CHECK OUT THE whitty writing of undercover florist and now blogger TAF.
There is no doubt like the rest of us that they love the florist world, but like most florists (and jobs in general) they have stories to tell!

PLANTS - ME
I LOVE AN INDOOR GARDEN AND aS MUCH AS I ADORE CUT FLOWERS (AND I REALLY DO), pLANTS ARE A MORE AFFORDABLE OPTION AND LIVE Far longer if looked AFTER PROPERLY. pLANTS ARE A GREAT COMPROMISE IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY OUTDOOR SPACe, softening the edges of city living! You don’t have to create an OVERGROWN JUNGLE (PLANTS ARE EXPENSIVE), oFTEN YOU ONLY NEED JUST A FEW KEY PLANTS to add a pop of greenery. Don’t get me wrong, if you can mix in a few cut flowers, then the contrasting colours, foliages can look wonderful.
aGAIN DRIED FLOWERS (i like to use hydrangeas) CAN LOOK FAB, but dON’T LET THEM GATHER DUST unless you want to rock the miss havisham vibes.
iN THIS SHOT (TAKEN AT THE DOT PROJECT, HOLLAND PARK) i have used A FICUS LYRATA OR A FIDDLE-LEAF FIG - THIS is A RELATIVELY AFFORDABLE plant. It loves bright, indirect sunlight and watering every 7-10 days depending on soil moisture (do not over water!). making it pretty fuss free! Make sure to dust their GORGEOUS, large leaves otherwise they can look a little sad and don’t let them sit in the sun otherwise they burn!
DRIED HYDRANGEAS ARE INCREDIBLY POPULAR. PEOPLE HAVE VERY SPECIFIC WAYS OF DRYING THEM E.G. HANGING THEM UPSIDE DOWN OR GRADUALLY REDUCING THEIR WATER. HOWEVER I JUST LEAVE MINE FOREVER AND EVER IN A VASE AND THEY SEEM TO DRY WELL.
If you’re a real plant novice opt for succulents, they’re virtually INDESTRUCTIBLE.
